TODAY MARKS SUNDAY SCHOOL PROMOTION SUNDAY
Sunday, May 19 is SUNDAY SCHOOL PROMOTION SUNDAY at both churches. Our Sunday School children will receive their promotion certificates immediately following services. We honor and thank our students, teachers, and all who helped to make our Sunday School programs successful this year. As our children begin their summer vacations, may we continue to be spiritual models for them, inspiring in them a love for Christ and His Church. As Saint John Chrysostom says, "Bring your children up with great, great care in the nurture and admonition of the Lord".
If you are interested in TEACHING SUNDAY SCHOOL NEXT YEAR, the HOLY TRINITY staff is in need of more TEACHERS. Please contact Holy Trinity SundaySchool Director Christina Athas at 891-9212.
SUMMER HOURS REMAIN THE SAME
Please be aware that there are NO special SUMMER HOURS for Sundayservices at either church. The time remains the same for both churches: SundayOrthros is at 8:30am, followed by Divine Liturgy at 9:30am.
OPA DANCE GROUPS PREPARE FOR FESTIVAL
OPA DANCE GROUPS continue their GREEK DANCE PRACTICES- PARTHENON practice is Tuesdays; ATHENIAN and OLYMPIAN practices are held on Thursdays. All practices start at 6:30pm at Prophet Elias.
BIBLE STUDY END-OF-YEAR UPDATES...
The TUESDAY Bible Study Group will continue to meet through the summer months on Tuesdays at 10:30am at Holy Trinity in the Holy Trinity Boardroom;
The WEDNESDAY Bible Study Group at Prophet Elias will meet Wednesdays, thru May 29, at 7:30pm and then recess until fall.
HCA TO SPONSOR MEMORIAL
On Sunday, May 26, the HELLENIC CULTURAL ASSOCIATION will sponsor a MEMORIAL SERVICE at Holy Trinity in remembrance of loved ones and friends who have fallen asleep. Following the service, HCA will host refreshments in the hall.
TRISAGION PRAYERS OFFERED AT CEMETERY
As our nation sets aside MEMORIAL DAY, Monday, May 27, to commemorate those who have died, we, too, will offer our faithful the occasion to lift up prayers for their departed loved ones. Our priests will offer TRISAGION PRAYERS at Mount Olivet Cemetery beginning at 9am. If your loved one is buried at another cemetery, you may make arrangements with one of the priests who will be more than happy to meet you and offer prayers.

Please note that the Holy Trinity and Prophet Elias OFFICES will be CLOSED onMonday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day.
TEA, ELECTIONS SLATED FOR PROPHET ELIAS PHILOPTOCHOS
PROPHET ELIAS PHILOPTOCHOS women are planning a lovely MEMBERSHIP TEA at the home of Dr. Valerie and George Rahaniotis (1987 Farm Circle, Cottonwood Heights) on Sunday, June 2 from 2pm-5pm. If you are unable to attend, you can mail your annual membership OFFERING to Mae Georgelas at 1429 Anita Avenue, SLC, 84106.
In addition, ELECTION of OFFICERS to a new TWO-YEAR TERM will be held onTuesday, June 11. If you are interested in running for office, please speak with Irene Petrogeorge (230-4802) or Tanya Holbeck (918-0494).
HOLY TRINITY PHILOPTOCHOS OFFICERS BEGIN NEW TERM
On Sunday, May 12, the newly-elected 2013-2015 HOLY TRINITY PHILOPTOCHOS OFFICERS received the OATH OF OFFICE. We congratulate them and wish them God's abundant blessings as they undertake such a vital MINISTRY of our Holy Orthodox Church. An Office Administration POSITION at PROPHET ELIAS has become available. The hours are FLEXIBLE - up to 40 hours per week, as the position necessitates. METROPOLIS CLERGY-LAITY UPCOMING
Father Matthew, along with Philoptochos and Parish representatives, will depart on Thursday, May 30 for the METROPOLIS OF DENVER CLERGY-LAITY CONFERENCE in Kansas City. Choir representatives will also be attending the CHOIR CONFERENCE which will take place that same weekend in Kansas City. We wish to all of them a fruitful and safe journey as they work for the good of our Holy Orthodox Church.
PAA CONVENTION PLANNING MEETING SET FOR JUNE
The 2015 PAA National Convention Executive Committee invites you to contribute to a BRAINSTORMING SESSION - for the Allocation of the Convention Funds - on Sunday, June 2, at 3pm at the Kritiko Spiti (281 Paramount Avenue, SLC). YOUTH BASKETBALL CAMP A SUMMER FAVORITE
The GREEK ORTHODOX SPORTS LEAGUE BASKETBALL CAMP staff is looking forward to an exciting week June 10-13! The camp is designed to provide players with outstanding instruction, teamwork, sportsmanship, and fun. CAMP DETAILS: June 10-13: AM Session (boys and girls 3rd-6th grades), 9am-noon(doors open at 8am); PM Session (boys and girls 7th-10th grades), 1pm-4pm, at Prophet Elias. The cost is $65. We are also in need of VOLUNTEERS to help with the youth basketball camp. Must be 14 years of age or older. Two shifts daily:9am-noon and 1pm-4pm. OPA CAMP-featuring dance, music, food, culture, arts and crafts, games, and sports-will be held June 17-21 from 10am-3pm at Prophet Elias. The registration deadline for this fun annual camp, for children ages preschool-14 years, is June 13. The cost is $90, but after June 13, the cost increases to $110. Space is limited.
